Standards Based Grading

Standards Based Grading

  • Formative and Summative Assessment will relate clearly and directly to mastery of the GSE+.

  • Final grades will represent an overall level of mastery of the GSE+ for the course. (See tables for details.)

  • Participation, organizational skills (such as notebook checks), and soft skills (such as effort, perseverance, and other locally developed learner behaviors) unless specifically stated in the course standards will not be a part of a student’s task grade or final grade.

  • Reporting of soft skills such as effort, participation, and other learner behaviors should be student-driven, self-monitored, and shared with parents outside of the grading process, such as in conferences or comments.
