Standards Based Grading
Formative and Summative Assessment will relate clearly and directly to mastery of the GSE+.
Final grades will represent an overall level of mastery of the GSE+ for the course. (See tables for details.)
Participation, organizational skills (such as notebook checks), and soft skills (such as effort, perseverance, and other locally developed learner behaviors) unless specifically stated in the course standards will not be a part of a student’s task grade or final grade.
Reporting of soft skills such as effort, participation, and other learner behaviors should be student-driven, self-monitored, and shared with parents outside of the grading process, such as in conferences or comments.
