At the center of the CSD Instructional Framework is the relationship between the student, standards, and the teacher. This relationship is the core of teaching and learning in CSD and we must start with examining the relationship between teachers, students, and standards as our starting point in ensuring our students are achieving at the highest levels and that we are achieving equitable outcomes for our students. This relationship is complex and captures the teachers’ pedagogical knowledge and skills in delivering high quality culturally responsive instruction for each student. Assessment of learning is the tool we use to capture data so the teacher and student can partner in developing a successful learning experience that results in mastery of the knowledge and skills.
